Program Information U9``A`` and U9``B``
Hello LSMHA Members,
LSMHA is officially canceling all Male/Female "A" program and Novice B hosted out of Lord Selkirk Minor Hockey. Unfortunately we have run out of time to have any type of programing, we have also lost the Selkirk Rec Center as they no longer have ice.
The regular season has now expired and most teams would have already entered into the playoffs. The recent return to play from Hockey Manitoba is also not favorable for team activities nor do we have enough available ice to facilitate all teams.
LSMHA will no longer be supporting these programs moving forward and we are now shifting to refunding its members. LSMHA hoped for a different outcome for our players in this unprecedented season and will now shift its focus to the 2021-2022 season.
Hockey Manitoba did indicate that they have extended the season to May 31st, 2021 but that primarily deals with Insurance. Hockey Winnipeg also indicated that they would allow for exhibition games to be played, these games would need to be sanctioned by Hockey Winnipeg Directly. Any games played this season will not be supported by LSMHA, teams would need to ensure they find officials, rent the ice and ensure they are sanctioned by Hockey Winnipeg.
Hockey Manitoba Insurance
All player insurance is through Hockey Manitoba/Canada and it is imperative if teams or groups would like to continue to skate they adhere to all rules pertaining to Hockey Manitoba Return to Play Plans and ensure all players are on an active roster including the coaches or instructors on the ice. If there are questions relating to Insurance please contact Hockey Manitoba Directly for clarification.
Any groups wishing to continue will be skating and practicing as private groups and will be responsible for securing and paying for ice. They will also be responsible for adhering to facility rules and provincial covid protocols.
Refunds
LSMHA will start to issue refunds shortly and hope to have all refunds completed and to its members by the end of March, we have been although given until April 30th, 2021 to complete these refunds.
All refund checks will be given to team mangers for distribution to their players, in the event a team did not have a manager the age director for LSMHA will help in the distribution of these checks.
Players that received funding: We will use the funding towards the cost of holdback, any additional funds will be sent back to funding organization.
Players from Mixed Families - We will be issuing a refund to the parent who shows up in our system who registered the player. It will be up to the parents of the player to divide the funds.
There will be a letter attached to every check that details amounts paid and fees that are held back as all refunds may be different depending on which team you were on and what activities you participated in.
We ask for patience and understanding as we process these refunds, this is large under taking and we will have these processed as soon as we can. Please refrain from messaging board members to determine where your individual refund is.
Thank You
LSMHA
In order to be prepared for the upcoming season as we get closer to anticipated start we are opening up registration for our members.
With the situation still being fluid we are asking our members to register on the Hockey Canada website so we can have an understanding of numbers for evaluations and team formations. The expectation today is that evaluations will start after the September long weekend as normal. As the situation becomes more clear we will send out emails to all registered members notifying them of the evaluation times.
We are not collecting full fees at this time and will only be collecting the evaluation fee. Once you have registered with Hockey Canada using the link below you will be sent an email within a few days with a lsmha.com link to pay for your evaluation. As we find out more information we will send out a link in a similar fashion to pay for your full registration fees.
